I have videos from June, July, August, September and October 2008, and I will try to post them over time. There are 50-60 of them, so it may take me a while. For now I'll jump ahead to November.
We took a late flight home from NC on Monday night, and I had to memorialize the first time Annie ever carried her own bag. Her "Cars" rolling bag is a new fave. rolling bag from Jessica on Vimeo.
Annie started to get sick on Day 3 of the trip, so we took it easy... a trip to the mall was in order. Got new flashy sneakers and some Hello Kitty pinwheels. Nice.
I love the way the girls are playing here. This is on our trip to the mall. Before we did the fabulous studio photoshoot at Sears (ha! love it!). nose kisses from Jessica on Vimeo.
Day 2 (I think? it's all blurring together) we had a blast at Monkey Joe's - which is this incredible bounce house place...
Ev, Mary and I had such fun bouncing with the girls (Christian stayed home with Bodie) - and I see on their website that they're opening one in Danvers soon... we are THERE.
Well we just got to NC to visit our friends Mary and Christian, and their cutie pies Hanne and Bodie. Annie immediately loved dancing around on their new deck with Hanne - and they didn't even need tunes.
I don't have enough video of gorgeous 17 month old Bodie. Apologies for my annoying babytalk - he's just delicious, isn't he? The Bode-man and his watermelon from Jessica on Vimeo.
Annie couldn't believe her luck - a whole house of toys to play with? The best dollhouse ever? Mary's dollhouse from when she was little - custom built in the seventies to fit Barbies... just too perfect. But really, the best part of this video is Hanne gently explaining (towards the end of the video), that these are all her toys...
This is kind of a weird, non-sequitur filled video, but really, that's life with a 2 1/2 year old, after all. I didn't edit out the beginning part on purpose so you can see how quickly our beloved can go from zero to pissed, for really really no reason... then the end is great because I love her pronunciation of this word.
Since Annie was about 5 months old and just able to sit up on her own, Sash has been giving her piano lessons. She love love loves it. I think the best part of this is her wiggling dancing along with the song.
When I was little my school sent home a note saying I had "strong leadership qualities". I think Annie might have gotten a teenie bit of my Bossy McBosserton gene.
I sing this to bed at her because it's one of my favorite songs ever, and I know all the words, so I can get all the way through it. Apparently some of the words have stuck :) Here's the actual song (scroll down the Amazon page and click Eden to listen to it)...
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the beginning of the musical portion of the blog posts. She's such a good singer, I wanted to get a bunch of songs recorded. And without further ado:
The beginning of this video depict the weirdness that is the terrible twos for us. She's 2 and a half now, so I'm trying to get her to say it for most of the video. This is kind of a long one, sorry.
This is a re-enactment of an actual conversation she and her grandmother had a few minutes ago when Mum arrived to babysit. Early this morning she'd been pitiful, whiny, feverish, and eventually threw up a bit. I guess, as she promised it would, Curious George "make me feel better".
This is Annie's friend Madeleine. She and Annie are almost exactly the same age, and we've been getting together with their family since before the girls were born. We got together to play yesterday with them, and had a blast. The kids make us laugh so much.
Madeleine and her parents went to see Hillary Clinton speak recently, and ever since then she's been imitating the political speech style. She's not saying anything comprehensible here - it's really just the rhythm of what she's saying and doing with her mic. I love this!
We have a book about dinosaurs eating their food, and it jokes about all the things that dinosaurs DON'T do as they eat their food... they don't throw it on the floor, they don't bubble their milk... they don't glare at their parents... so we tried to teach Annie what glaring was. She is extraordinarily good at it, and LOVES to do it.
Evan is doing his Annie impression in this... where she speaks in a monotone... but the conversation itself is so random and all over the place. Just typical 2 1/2 yr old talk.
Boot = book. This is a long video, only for the committed. I like it because I feel like it shows her at this age - how she interacts... but there's really not that much interesting in it.
What, you might ask, do we feed a 2 1/2 yr old Annie? She has some favorite foods, listed here. And we did capture my favorite phrase - where she says "no can" when she means "and I can"... I just love it.
Here's the girl playing a little joke - making herself laugh as she jumps on our bed and catches sight of herself in the mirror at the top of her leap... and says buh-bye to herself each time. Hehe. Also love the morning hair.
She's really quite good at everything physical - catching a ball, for one (and this isn't even a good example of it... Ev likes it better when she brings her hands together right when the ball gets to her, but either way, I'm impressed). Playing Catch from Jessica on Vimeo.
